Gen I cases have "flat" latches. These were used up to a manufacture date of February 1988.

Z Rack Latches: These hold the cases onto the luggage mounting brackets	Case Closure Latches: (2 per case) These hold the cases closed

They have keys similar to the keys used in old Samsonite luggage. Each set of flat locks has a three digit code stamped into the side of the lock and also the associated key.

The flat case closure latches attach to a piece on the other side of the luggage. It is not the same as the one used for the later "round" latches.

"Round" Latches:

Gen II and Gen III cases have "round" latches. These were used after a manufacture date of February 1988.

Round locks use the same key style as the ignition, gas cap and other K bike locks.

"Rekeying" Round Latches:
