If your K bike did not come with 4-way hazard flashers then it is very easy to add them. All K bike flasher relays and main wiring harnesses can accommodate them. All you need is the "Hazard Warning" dash switch - part 61311459305. Some dealer parts people have been known to tell customers that they need a new flasher relay for this but that is not the case. The reason this occurs is that the flasher relay shows up in two parts diagrams - one for the relay box and another for the hazard warning parts. However, if you check you'll find that both flasher relays have the same part number - 61311459224. The connector for the hazard switch can be found under the left side of the fuel tank. It is a flat black three terminal connector. The wires to it are brown (ground), yellow/violet and blue/white. The hazards are activated when the switch grounds the yellow/violet wire. Some of the early K bike hazard switches had a tiny light in them behind the hazard triangle switch insert that would flash in unison with the hazard lights. That's what the blue/white wire is/was for. © 2013 Drake Smith - Please do not use or reproduce this elsewhere. Feel free to link to it though. |
